Kansas City Royals reliever Blaine Boyer jumped in to assist when a bit of ice shattered the windshield of a staff bus and injured the motive force Sunday evening in Toronto.

As the Royals’ staff buses traveled from the airport to their lodge, a bit of ice flew off the main bus and shattered the windshield of the second bus. After shards of glass hit the motive force and lower his face, Boyer grabbed the wheel to assist maintain the bus beneath management, in response to a number of experiences.

Boyer told The Athletic that the motive force, who’s reported to be OK, deserves all of the credit score.

“He was a stud,” Boyer stated. “That guy Fred was a trooper. He had shards in his face, and he was locked in on trying to get the bus slowed down.”

The Royals’ bother with ice did not finish there, as their sport with the Blue Jays on Monday was postponed as a result of items of ice that fell off the CN Tower punctured a gap within the roof of the Rogers Centre.

Boyer is in his first 12 months with the Royals, having made the staff out of spring coaching after signing a minor league deal.
